Guidelines
Forgotten K9s Inc. is not a shelter. Our dogs are
located in foster homes.

We do not have a  "facility" for you to visit dogs
unless we are doing adoptions at one of our off
site locations. You will need to fill out an
application. If you are qualified, I will be glad to
meet with you in person. We do home visits and
you will have to sign a contract.

Please note - If your idea is to adopt a rescue dog
because you do not want to pay full price, please
stop here! Rescue is about giving a dog a second
chance. My adoption fees are reasonable and not
negotiable. Everyone wants a purebred, small,
young, and healthy toy breed. Few want a large
mixed breed. I will charge more for a tiny
purebred to help offset the costs of my sick,
elderly, and big "unwantables"! This is just the way
that it is. Please do not come to rescue looking for
a bargain. There are many we save, vet, beg and
pay friends to transport north because there are
no homes for them here. Also, you do not usually
find tiny, elegant, beautiful, completely trained,
perfectly behaved dogs in rescue. We get the
leftovers.

They have not been socialized or trained, and many
have been treated poorly or even abused. They
have had lack of Vet care and have lived on chains,
crated, outside, or in a garage. Some are timid,
angry, or depressed. Some have had it. They have
given up!

But, we do not give up on them. Many have issues
to work through and we will let you know what they
are before you adopt. Please be open to working
with these babies and willing to put forth the
effort and provide a forever home. If you cannot
Commit, Do Not Adopt! Pets are living breathing
creatures with souls and feelings. They are not
disposable. I love my animals like I love my
children. The only difference is the number of
legs that they have.
